Apologies: Stuart
Although absent at the meeting, David later confirmed that the monthly direct debit subscripton did not need to change. The subscription of £9.00 (incl.) can therefore stay in place.
He distributed the accounts summarised as follows:
We deregistered for VAT in February 2024.
In previous years we could claim VAT refunds for our expenditure, but also had to charge VAT on membership subscriptions. The amount which we could reclaim was always less than what we had actually paid.
Jump Networks no longer offer a discount for paying a year in advance, so we have to pay monthly invoices. Now that we are all paying our subscriptions by standing order, it's easier to ensure that we can meet those.
Our only other expenses are the annual fee to PortFast (who do give a discount) and domain registration with FastHosts.
As things stand, we are able to meet our outgoings comfortably, and have a reserve of just under £100. In the last year we made a small surplus of £14.54.
David and Jonathan later confirmed that they both have joint admin access (separate accounts) to the registry console at FastHosts. This means that if one of them is unable to renew or otherwise manage the Hatters domains, the other can do so. Jonathan has also added his credit card as a backup payment mechanism.
